PFERD TOOLS’ impressive milling tools for robot applications meet the highest quality standards during production and offer high performance and wear resistance, leading to significantly lower process costs and optimized process chains.

From standard tasks to the machining of challenging materials, PFERD TOOLS offers an optimized, application-specific portfolio for milling work in robot applications.

Chamfering and deburring

Chamfering and deburring are two of the most common robot applications in the machining industry.

Our burr geometries feature the high-quality HICOAT coating HC-FEP and have been developed specifically for robot applications. With their innovative combination of different burr shapes, they set new standards for efficient robot applications.

Advantages:

  • Chamfering and deburring in one step.
  • Less programming needed due to fewer tool changes.
  • High-quality HICOAT coating HC-FEP for high hardness and wear resistance.

Special shape KZW

Burrs in the special shape KZW combine the advantages and versatility of the conical counterbore, cylindrical and tapered shapes in a single burr.

PFERD TOOLS offers tungsten carbide burrs in the special shape KZW with the universal cut 3 and with the high-performance cut MICRO. Both types come with the high-quality HICOAT coating HC-FEP.

High-performance cut MICRO with HICOAT coating HC-FEP

  • Suitable for use on almost all materials up to 68 HRC.
  • High surface quality.

Universal cut 3 with HICOAT coating HC-FEP

  • High stock removal on steel, cast iron, stainless steel (INOX), nickel-based alloys and titanium alloys.
  • Good surface.

Special shape KSK-WKN

The special shape KSK-WKN combines a conical counterbore shape with an inverted cone.

The conical counterbore shape enables counterboring of small holes and deburring on both sides, all in a single step.

PFERD TOOLS offers tungsten carbide burrs in the special shape KSK-WKN with the universal cut 3 and with the universal cut 5. Both types come with the high-quality HICOAT coating HC-FEP.

Universal cut 3 with HICOAT coating HC-FEP

  • High stock removal on steel, cast iron, stainless steel (INOX), nickel-based alloys and titanium alloys.
  • Good surface.

Universal cut 5 with HICOAT coating HC-FEP

  • Fine machining of steel, cast iron, stainless steel (INOX) and high-temperature-resistant materials such as nickel-based and cobalt-based alloys.
  • Good surface.

Cleaning

Reworking castings in foundries is a very expensive, labour-intensive step. As a result, tool solutions that enable time-consuming mechanical machining tasks (such as fettling) to be automated play a big role in optimizing processes.

PFERD TOOLS has developed milling tools with a special geometry, long tool life and exact contour guidance, tailored precisely to the needs of robot-based reworking applications.

Cylindrical shape ZYA with ball bearing (KGL)

The ball bearing of the cylindrical burr provides optimum contour guidance and protects the workpiece against damage during milling.

PFERD TOOLS offers tungsten carbide burrs in the cylindrical shape ZYA KGL with the universal cut 4, high-performance cut ALU and high-performance cut MICRO. All types come with a high-quality HICOAT coating.

Universal cut 4 with HICOAT coating HC-FEP

  • Machining of stainless steel (INOX), steel and high-temperature-resistant materials such as nickel-based and cobalt-based alloys.
  • High stock removal with short chips and good surfaces.

High-performance cut ALU with HICOAT coating HC-NFE

  • High stock removal rate on aluminium and aluminium alloys, non-ferrous metals and plastics.
  • High-quality HICOAT coating HC-NFE for long-chipping and smearing aluminium alloys and non-ferrous metals.

High-performance cut MICRO with HICOAT coating HC-FEP

  • Suitable for use on almost all materials up to 68 HRC.
  • High surface quality.

Aluminium machining

Automated production processes used for the machining of aluminium components place high demands on the tool life and stock removal rate.

Our milling tools for robot-based aluminium machining applications feature a material-specific geometry and high-quality coatings, making them your first choice for economical machining of aluminium alloys and non-ferrous metals.

Special shape SKM-ZYA

The combination of the conical pointed shape and cylindrical shape enables optimum chamfering and deburring results.

Thanks to their slim, tapered shape, the burrs are also suitable for working on narrow contours.

Advantages:

  • ALU cut for extremely high stock removal rate on aluminium alloys and non-ferrous metals.
  • HC-NFE coating prevents material adhesion when working on long-chipping and smearing non-ferrous metals.

High Speed Disc ALUMASTER HSD-R RS

Our special tool for machining aluminium materials is now also available in a particularly robust design developed specifically for robot applications. The three types have diameters of 50 to 150 mm and cover a wide range of industrial applications.

Advantages:

  • Optimized design for robot applications.
  • Exceptionally high stock removal rate on aluminium materials.
  • Suitable for both radial machining and use on surfaces.

High Speed Torus Cutter HSC-T 20

The High Speed Torus Cutter is an unparalleled tool for use on robots with an extremely high stock removal rate. Thanks to its compact design, the High Speed Torus Cutter is the ideal tool for working in hard-to-reach areas and on delicate points such as grooves, pockets and tight radii and contours.

  • Exceptionally high stock removal rate on aluminium materials.
  • Available with 8 mm and Depo/M10 mounting.
